Many of us had mothers who said “You are what you eat,” usually in the setting of something
they did not think we should eat. Sadly for generations of kids who believed they were right and
their mothers wrong, mothers win.  Nutrition shows that children’s development and
maintenance of adult health do depend on a healthy diet.

Many people with medical conditions or who are healing from injuries have specific needs, either
for foods they should avoid or foods they should eat in abundance because their bodies need
more of the nutrients contained in those foods.

Food for the Body covers questions about nutrition, nutritional supplements, and the general
importance of eating what will be healthy for you and avoiding what may have a negative effect
if eaten in excessive amounts or at all.

The section also discusses the many values of physical activity, including exercise where you
carry your weight (weight-bearing exercise) and specific forms of activity such as tai chi and
yoga. There are also explanations of medical treatments: physical therapy, occupational
therapy, speech therapy, and vestibular therapy.

Let me know if you have questions, look for this section, coming soon.
